希西家並沒有將「得見耶和華」視為來生的經驗。得見耶和華是在聖殿敬拜，並得蒙耶和華的喜悅。第18～19節繼續說清楚，希西家王並不是指望美好的來生經歷。有關以色列的來生信仰，請參十四章9節注釋。
