以賽亞書 46：2-4

2 偶像不能自救；
它們成為戰利品，給帶走了。
這是巴比倫神明的末日。
3 雅各的子孫哪，要聽我的話；
殘存的以色列人哪，都要聽。
你們一出生，一出母胎，
我就關心你們。
4 我是你們的上帝，我要看顧你們，
直到你們頭髮斑白的時候。
我造了你們，也要養活你們；
我要幫助你們，拯救你們。

《聖經背景注釋》
被擄的偶像 巴比倫的節慶日是擡出偶像盛大遊行的場合。不過這里指的不是勝利行軍。美索不達米亞有很多戰爭中神像被俘的描繪。巴比倫神瑪爾杜克好幾次被俘，被帶出巴比倫。赫人（主前1595年）、亞述的杜庫提寧努他一世（主前1244～1208年）與西拿基立（主前705～681年）都曾毀滅巴比倫，取走瑪爾杜克神像，但是後來都歸返巴比倫。
