耶利米書11章1-5節

11:1 上主對我說：
11:2 「你要聽清楚這約的內容，然後向猶大和耶路撒冷人宣布：
11:3 我—上主、以色列的上帝這樣說：誰不遵行這約，誰就受詛咒。
11:4 我從埃及，從那燃燒著的火爐中把他們的祖先帶出來時，我與他們立了這約。我要他們服從我，遵守我的命令。我告訴他們，他們若服從我就是我的子民，我要作他們的上帝。
11:5 這樣，我就實現我對他們的祖先所發的誓，把他們現在居住流奶與蜜這肥沃的土地賜給他們。」 我回答：「是的，上主。」

11:1 The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD:
11:2 “Hear the words of this covenant, and speak to the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
11:3 You shall say to them, Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel: Cursed be the man who does not hear the words of this covenant
11:4 that I commanded your fathers when I brought them out of the land of Egypt, from the iron furnace, saying, Listen to my voice, and do all that I command you. So shall you be my people, and I will be your God,
11:5 that I may confirm the oath that I swore to your fathers, to give them a land flowing with milk and honey, as at this day.” Then I answered, “So be it, LORD.”
從今天開始的11章至13章，大部分的學者認為這段是在約西亞在位時，希勒家發現律法書之後（西元前621年左右），引起的宗教改革期間，耶利米的預言。而今天閱讀的經文，描述上主重申出埃及時與以色列人立的西乃之約。
