耶利米書12章1-6節

12:1 上主啊，我向你申辯我的案情，每次都是你對。但我還是要問你：究竟什麼是公正？為什麼壞人事事順利？為什麼詭詐的人事事亨通？
12:2 你栽種他們，他們就扎根，並且長大，結實。他們嘴裡常提起你，心裡卻沒有你。
12:3 但是上主啊，你認識我；你知道我的行為，知道我誠心愛你。求你拉走壞人，像拉羊進屠宰場，把他們關到宰殺的日子。
12:4 我們的土地還要乾旱多久呢？田園的草要枯乾到幾時呢？飛鳥走獸都死光了，因為我的同胞邪惡；他們說：上帝看不見我們的行為。
12:5 上主說：耶利米呀，如果你跟人賽跑會疲倦，你怎麼能跟馬賽跑呢？如果你在空曠地方都站不穩，你怎能在約旦河邊的叢林站得穩呢？
12:6 你的兄弟親人都背叛你；他們聯合起來攻擊你。即使他們甜言蜜語，你也不可信任他們。

12:1 Righteous are you, O LORD, when I complain to you; yet I would plead my case before you. Why does the way of the wicked prosper? Why do all who are treacherous thrive?
12:2 You plant them, and they take root; they grow and produce fruit; you are near in their mouth and far from their heart.
12:3 But you, O LORD, know me; you see me, and test my heart toward you. Pull them out like sheep for the slaughter, and set them apart for the day of slaughter.
12:4 How long will the land mourn and the grass of every field wither? For the evil of those who dwell in it the beasts and the birds are swept away, because they said, “He will not see our latter end.”
12:5 “If you have raced with men on foot, and they have wearied you, how will you compete with horses? And if in a safe land you are so trusting, what will you do in the thicket of the Jordan?
12:6 For even your brothers and the house of your father, even they have dealt treacherously with you; they are in full cry after you; do not believe them, though they speak friendly words to you.”
今天的經文中，耶利米質問上主為什麼惡人會事事順利呢？並求上帝立刻彰顯正義。上帝回答他：先知自己的能力有限，要小心自己的安危。上主沒有直接回應耶利米的要求，只是跟他說：未來還會更險惡。可能耶利米也知道沒道理要求上帝立刻要執行公義，只是他還是覺得很不爽。但上帝跟他說：他遇到的還不是最嚴重的，未來還要繼 續小心，這樣似乎就解決了耶利米的問題。常常，我們也只要上主關心我們就好了。
