耶利米書15章15-18節

15:15 於是我說：「上主啊，你知道一切。求你記得我，幫助我，向那些迫害我的人報復！求你報復，不要延遲，不要讓他們有機會殺害我。求你記得，我受侮辱是為了你的緣故。
15:16 你對我說話，句句我都留心聽。上主—萬軍的統帥上帝啊，我是屬於你的；你的話使我心裡充滿喜樂。
15:17 我沒有浪費光陰，跟別人在一起歡笑，享受人生樂趣。為了遵從你的命令，我孤立自己，心裡充滿忿怒。
15:18 我為什麼不斷受苦？為什麼我的創傷不得醫治？難道你要像乾涸的小溪那樣靠不住、老是令我失望嗎？」

15:15 O LORD, you know; remember me and visit me, and take vengeance for me on my persecutors. In your forbearance take me not away; know that for your sake I bear reproach.
15:16 Your words were found, and I ate them, and your words became to me a joy and the delight of my heart, for I am called by your name, O LORD, God of hosts.
15:17 I did not sit in the company of revelers, nor did I rejoice; I sat alone, because your hand was upon me, for you had filled me with indignation.
15:18 Why is my pain unceasing, my wound incurable, refusing to be healed? Will you be to me like a deceitful brook, like waters that fail?
今天的經文中，耶利米求上帝快點為他申冤，因為他喜愛上帝的言語，但卻遭受逼迫。18節，「乾涸的小溪」：「不可靠的水」。當地有許多河道，冬天沒有旅人的時候充滿溪水，夏天旅人多的時候就乾涸。而且有些旅人順著這種河道找水，就乾渴而死。因此耶利米質問上帝莫非像這種河道一樣，騙他信賴，最後卻乾渴而死？
