耶利米書22章13-19節

22:13 慘啦，這個人有禍了！他用不義手段建造自己的宮殿，用不公正的方法擴建王宮。他強迫人民白白工作，不付工資。
22:14 慘啦，這個人有禍了！他說：我要建宏偉的宮殿，要造寬敞的樓房。他裝上窗戶，用香柏木做鑲板，漆上鮮紅的顏色。
22:15 難道你造了比別人高貴的香柏木宮殿，就表示你是一個賢明的君王嗎？你父親一生享福。他始終秉公行義；他所做的一切都亨通。
22:16 他為窮苦無助的人伸冤；他一切都很順利。這是表示他認識上主。
22:17 但你只貪圖自己的利益；你流了無辜者的血，以暴力壓制人民。我—上主這樣宣布了。
22:18 所以，關於約西亞的兒子猶大王約雅敬，上主這樣說：沒有人會為他哀悼說：嗚呼哀哉，我的朋友好慘哪！沒有人會為他哀呼：我的主！我的王啊！
22:19 他要被人拖走，被拋到耶路撒冷城外，好像埋葬一頭驢。

22:13 “Woe to him who builds his house by unrighteousness, and his upper rooms by injustice, who makes his neighbor serve him for nothing and does not give him his wages,
22:14 who says, ‘I will build myself a great house with spacious upper rooms,’ who cuts out windows for it, paneling it with cedar and painting it with vermilion.
22:15 Do you think you are a king because you compete in cedar? Did not your father eat and drink and do justice and righteousness? Then it was well with him.
22:16 He judged the cause of the poor and needy; then it was well. Is not this to know me? declares the LORD.
22:17 But you have eyes and heart only for your dishonest gain, for shedding innocent blood, and for practicing oppression and violence.”
22:18 Therefore thus says the LORD concerning Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah: “They shall not lament for him, saying, ‘Ah, my brother!’ or ‘Ah, sister!’ They shall not lament for him, saying, ‘Ah, lord!’ or ‘Ah, his majesty!’
22:19 With the burial of a donkey he shall be buried, dragged and dumped beyond the gates of Jerusalem.”
今天的經文中，耶利米責備約雅敬王用欺壓百姓的手段建造宮殿。
蓋王宮應該是在約雅敬作王初期，當時約雅敬正徵收稅捐以貢獻給法老，所以不可能能夠負擔工資，但是約雅敬個人的私心仍然希望要享受君王的權利與財富，於是就用強迫勞役的方式進行工程。
