耶利米書22章1-9節

22:1 上主吩咐我到猶大王宮去告訴大衛王朝的君王、他的官員，和耶路撒冷人民，說上主這樣說：
22:2 併於上節
22:3 「我—上主命令你們執行公正的審判，伸張正義，從欺壓者手中解救被壓迫的人。你們不可虐待或壓迫外僑、孤兒，和寡婦；也不可在這地方流無辜者的血。
22:4 如果你們遵守我的命令，大衛的後代就會繼續作王。他們以及他們的官員和人民都可乘車、騎馬，經過這些城門，進入王宮。
22:5 如果你們不服從我的命令，我對你們發誓，這宮殿將成為廢墟。我—上主這樣宣布了。
22:6 「在我眼中，猶大王室的宮殿像基列，又像黎巴嫩山那麼壯麗；但是我要使它荒廢，沒有人居住。
22:7 我要派人摧毀它。他們都要帶來斧頭，砍斷那些美麗的香柏柱子，扔進火裡。
22:8 「後來，許多外國人要經過這地方，彼此詢問，上主為什麼這樣對付這大城？
22:9 然後他們又自己回答：因為這城的人違背了上主—他們的上帝與他們立的約，去膜拜服事別的神。」

22:1 Thus says the LORD: “Go down to the house of the king of Judah and speak there this word,
22:2 and say, ‘Hear the word of the LORD, O king of Judah, who sits on the throne of David, you, and your servants, and your people who enter these gates.
22:3 Thus says the LORD: Do justice and righteousness, and deliver from the hand of the oppressor him who has been robbed. And do no wrong or violence to the resident alien, the fatherless, and the widow, nor shed innocent blood in this place.
22:4 For if you will indeed obey this word, then there shall enter the gates of this house kings who sit on the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they and their servants and their people.
22:5 But if you will not obey these words, I swear by myself, declares the LORD, that this house shall become a desolation.
22:6 For thus says the LORD concerning the house of the king of Judah: “‘You are like Gilead to me, like the summit of Lebanon, yet surely I will make you a desert, an uninhabited city.
22:7 I will prepare destroyers against you, each with his weapons, and they shall cut down your choicest cedars and cast them into the fire.
22:8 “‘And many nations will pass by this city, and every man will say to his neighbor, “Why has the LORD dealt thus with this great city?”
22:9 And they will answer, “Because they have forsaken the covenant of the LORD their God and worshiped other gods and served them.”’”
今天的經文是先知傳達訊息對西底家的訓勉：猶大王朝要能秉公行義才能延續，否則將被毀滅。而目前上帝就是因為耶路撒冷離開神，因此計畫要毀滅猶大王朝。
