以賽亞書 41：4-7

4 誰使這事發生？
誰決定歷史的方向？
我—上主從開始就在那裡，
在終結的時候，我也在那裡。
5 諸海島看見就恐懼；
遙遠的人也都害怕得發抖。
他們都來了，聚集在一起。
6 他們的匠人彼此幫助，
互相鼓勵說：拿出勇氣來！
7 木匠對金匠說：你的手藝不錯；
鑄造偶像的工匠誇獎釘釘子的木匠，
恭維說：你們做得好啊。
他們用釘子把偶像釘牢，
使它牢靠穩固。

4 The coastlands have seen and are afraid; the ends of the earth tremble; they have drawn near and come.
5 until I come and take you away to a land like your own land, a land of grain and wine, a land of bread and vineyards.
6 Everyone helps his neighbor and says to his brother, “Be strong!”
7 The craftsman strengthens the goldsmith, and he who smooths with the hammer him who strikes the anvil, saying of the soldering, “It is good”; and they strengthen it with nails so that it cannot be moved.

工匠的手藝 請參四十章19節注釋。這一節是工匠自己準備模子，鑄造塑像。金工匠作鑲貼，然後用錘子敲平，再磨亮表層。最後一個步驟難以翻譯，因為都是專業用語，不過大約是指釘子符合木頭底座的洞孔。
